Sandile Mthethwa

Having grown up in Empangeni, Kwa-Zulu Natal born Sandile Mthethwa caught the eye of the Sea Robbers while playing for the KZN Academy in the early stages of his footballing career. The young defender played his first professional match with Richards Bay FC and joins Orlando Pirates in 2021 fulfilling his childhood dream.

Nicknamed after his favourite player, “Yaya” hopes to achieve many accolades with the Buccaneers, both individual and collectively. A player who knows his potential, Sandile enjoys spending his time off the field with his family and friends.
