Evidence Makgopa

After starting out as a defender, it was at the other end of the field where Makgopa made his professional debut, turning out for Baroka in the 2019/20 season after banging in the goals for the Club’s DStv Diski Challenge outfit.

Inside his first two seasons in the senior ranks, he has gone on to represent South Africa, making an immediate impact in national colours with a brace on his international debut. His obvious talent has ultimately led him to catch the eye of the Buccaneers scouts, eventually signing on the dotted line ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The striker admits to being a bit obsessed with the game, and lists global superstars such as Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba among his favourite footballers.
