Deano van Rooyen

The talented right-back made his senior debut in the colours of Stellenbosch and was instrumental in helping them gain promotion to the top flight. He racked up well over 100 appearances before joining the Soweto Giants in 2024.

Nicknamed “Die Hond”, Van Rooyen grew up idolising Cristiano Ronaldo and considers playing for Orlando Pirates a huge honour. During his free time away from football, Deano enjoys playing video games with friends and watching TV.
