Three Orlando Pirates players are set to represent South Africa during the upcoming FIFA international window, which begins later in the month.
Bafana Bafana will take part in the inaugural edition of the FIFA Series held in Algeria, where they are scheduled to play two Friendly matches against the host nation and Andorra.
Coach Hugo Broos announced his final squad on Monday with defender Nkosinathi Sibisi getting the nod, having been retained from the team that finished third in the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in the Ivory Coast last month. The 28-year-old made two appearances at the continental showpiece and is now on track to add to his 10 international caps.
He is joined in the 23-man squad by fellow centre-back Tapelo Xoki, who featured on the bench in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda in November last year. A first official Bafana cap could be on the cards for the Bucs hardman, who was penned into the AFCON squad as one of the players on standby.
The Bucs contingent is completed by the inclusion of midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi, fresh off a Man of the Match performance in the recent Soweto Derby triumph. The 25-year-old is another prospective debutant, having last donned national colours at Under-20 level.
South Africa kicks off the series with a historic clash against Andorra, taking place at the 19 May 1956 in Annaba on Thursday, 21 March before locking horns with Algeria at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers five days later.
The trio is expected to return home on Wednesday, the 26th before joining the Bucs camp for preparations for their DStv Premiership fixture away to Sekhukhune United on Saturday.
