The Pirates Cup is gearing up for an electrifying showdown, promising to set the stage on fire with its biggest prize bonanza yet. With a staggering R190,000 up for grabs, this year’s tournament is poised to be a spectacle like no other.
Now in its eight year, the Pirates Cup has solidified its reputation as one of the nation’s premier youth tournaments, drawing in top talent and fierce competition from all corners of the country.
But wait, there’s more! In a bold move to ramp up the excitement, Orlando Pirates has unleashed a wave of modifications in the female division.
Responding to the clamour from female players, the age restrictions have been tossed aside, making room for a diverse array of talent to take the field.
“We’ve heard the calls loud and clear,” declared Cayl Coetsee, a member of the tournament’s organising committee. “This year, it’s all about inclusivity and pushing the boundaries. By opening up the female category to all players, we’re gearing up for the most intense and thrilling showdown in the tournament’s history.”
